Database preparation

• Backup your local XAMPP MySQL DB - use Wordpress Backup Plugin
• Login to your Wordpress Admin
• Activate plugin
• Go to Manage and download backup database
• Find and isolate your *.sql - unzipping backup you just created
• Replace http://localhost/wordpress with http://www.yoursite.com
• Save and close your SQL file.

Import

• Log on to your hosting account or your webserver
• Create a new MySQL database for Wordpress
• Then openPHPMyAdmin
• Click the name of the database you just created
• At the top of the screen will show your server and database name
• Click the Import Tab
• Click Browse Button
• Browse to the location - your saved *.sql file
• Click Go at the bottom
• Message will displayed - ‘Import has been successfully finished, x queries executed’
• Exit PHPMyAdmin

Browse your local Wordpress installation

• Open up your wp-config.php file
• Enter MySQL username and password of the new database
• Save and close wp-config.php

Upload Wordpress

• Upload ENTIRE contents of your local Wordpress folder to the new location on your webserver
